Our Therapies
Theoretical Counseling Approaches
There are three primary theoretical counselling approaches widely used to support clients in achieving positive change:
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Purpose: CBT helps individuals understand their conscious, subconscious, and unconscious thoughts, behaviours, and suppressed experiences that may lead to negative consequences.
- Method: Through this understanding, clients work on creating small, achievable goals that guide them toward the desired positive outcome.
-
Humanistic Therapy
- Purpose: This approach assists clients in exploring and understanding their own thoughts and feelings.
- Method: The goal is to find solutions that facilitate positive change, empowering clients to reach a better state of well-being.
-
Person-Centered Therapy
- Purpose: This therapy is based on the idea that clients can achieve self-actualization and become their true selves when provided with the right conditions.
- Method: The sessions are client-led, with the counsellor supporting the exploration of thoughts and feelings. This approach helps clients gain awareness, independence, and autonomy.
